Brimfield, Massachusetts sits just off Route 20 between Springfield and Worcester. There's no single "best" way in — it depends on whether you're optimizing for the shortest drive or the most flight options.

Worcester Regional is technically closest, but its commercial service is limited to a handful of JetBlue routes. For most travelers, Bradley International (BDL) is the real answer — significantly more flight options for only about 15 extra minutes of driving over Worcester. Boston Logan has the widest flight selection of any nearby airport if you don't mind the longer drive.

Driving directions
Brimfield sits at the junction of Route 20 between Palmer and Sturbridge. The route in depends on where you're coming from:
- From Boston, Worcester, or Providence: Take I-90 (Mass Pike) west to Exit 78 (Sturbridge/I-84), then Route 20 west about 7 miles into Brimfield.
- From Springfield or Albany: Take I-90 east to Exit 63 (Palmer/Route 32), then Route 32 south about 0.6 miles to Palmer, then Route 20 east about 6.8 miles.
- From Hartford or New York: Take I-91 north to Hartford, then I-84 east to the Sturbridge exit, connecting to Route 20 west.
One thing worth flagging if you're following an older set of directions: the Mass Pike's exit numbers were renumbered to a mile-based system in 2020–2021. What used to be "Exit 9" near Sturbridge is now Exit 78, and the old "Exit 8" near Palmer is now Exit 63. Some vendor and event sites still reference the old numbers — go by the destination name (Sturbridge/I-84, or Palmer/Route 32) if a number seems off.
Taking the train
Springfield Union Station (about 26 miles / 35 minutes from Brimfield) is the most useful Amtrak stop, served by the Northeast Regional, Hartford Line, Vermonter, Valley Flyer, and Lake Shore Limited. Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, Budget, and Sixt all operate rental counters at or near the station, making a train-plus-rental-car combination realistic if you'd rather not drive the whole way. Worcester's Union Station is also an Amtrak stop, but we didn't find a confirmed on-site rental counter there — Springfield is the more dependable option.
