Tuesday & Wednesday: best selection
Most fields open somewhere in this window, and this is when the freshest inventory hits the ground. If you're hunting something specific, or you're a serious buyer who wants first pick, early in the week is consistently where experienced visitors say to be. Expect the most competition and the highest energy — you won't be alone in this strategy.
Thursday: the balance point
By Thursday, most of the fields that are going to open for the week are open, the opening-day rush has settled, and selection is still strong. Several accounts specifically call out mid-week as a sweet spot — good inventory without the sharpest elbows.
Friday: still strong, a bit calmer
Crowds are typically more manageable than the weekend while inventory is still solid. Some dealers start showing more flexibility on price as the week progresses, which begins here and builds through the weekend.
Saturday: the busiest day for casual visitors
Saturday consistently draws the largest general crowd — families, day-trippers, and casual shoppers alongside the regulars. Selection is still good, but the pieces that moved fast early in the week are gone by now.
Sunday: best odds for a deal, thinner selection
By Sunday, some dealers are visibly packing up rather than hauling inventory home, and that shows up in pricing — this is consistently the day associated with the steepest discounts.
