Is Brimfield Really 5,000+ Dealers? We Added Up the Real Numbers

"5,000+ dealers" is the number you'll see everywhere Brimfield gets written about. We went looking for where that number actually comes from, and it traces back to exactly two field operators who state a show-wide figure on their own sites — Central Park Antique Shows ("upwards of 5,000 vendors") and Shelton Antique Shows ("up to 5000" dealers), both phrasing it as an approximate ceiling across the roughly 21-22 fields, not a guaranteed minimum. "5,000+" — which implies at least 5,000 — overstates what either source actually says.

So we tried a different approach: add up what each individual field actually states about itself, rather than repeat a single show-wide estimate.

The bottom-up count

A real, printed show guide — the Journal of Antiques & Collectibles Brimfield Show Guide, published independently in both the July and September 2026 issues with matching numbers — includes a per-field dealer-space table for 19 of the 21 fields. Adding up every field's stated count:

Summed, those numbers come to roughly 3,300 dealer spaces — and every individual figure is stated as a minimum ("450+", etc.), so the real total is somewhat higher than 3,300. But it's still meaningfully short of 5,000.

What this actually means for you

Two fields alone — Brimfield Auction Acres and Heart-O-The-Mart — account for 900+ of that total, and both run limited days (Auction Acres is Friday/Saturday only). If you're trying to estimate how much ground you can realistically cover, working from "5,000+ dealers show-wide" will badly overestimate any single field, while the per-field numbers above tell you what you're actually walking into on a given day. Where the numbers disagree with each other

Not every source agrees, even within the same publication. Dealer's Choice's own dealer-count table entry says 400+, but the field's own printed ad a few pages later in the identical issue says "200+ vendors" — and that held true in both the July and September issues, so it's not a one-time typo. Sturtevant's own site claims "over 200 dealers," while the same guide's table consistently lists 75+. We're noting both rather than picking a winner — Brimfield's scale is genuinely harder to pin down than the confident "5,000+" headline suggests, even from the show's own promotional materials.
